Amber Jewelry and Rings
Amber jewelry in our collection is available in sterling silver, white gold and yellow gold. This gem is not a stone but it ancient, fossilized tree resin! Amber jewelry has been found in stone age excavations used decoratively and assumed to have been used as amulets and talismans. It was one of the earliest substances used for jewelry. It varies from transparent to semi-translucent and from yellow to dark reddish brown in color, occasionally in deep red and some in greenish tones. Occasionally, one will find foreign fragments or insects, bits of pollen, leaves that were trapped in the amber, millions of years ago. Baltic Amber is the most abundant and is found along the shores of the Baltic Sea.
